Most of you will be on Easter holidays now, I hope you’re enjoying your break! My boys broke up from school on Wednesday, so we’ve had a relaxed end to the week. Now that Spring is well underway, at least we can look forward to warmer months and, of course, the summer holidays!
Life has gone back to normality since my in-laws left for England and work has taken precedence again, hence my lack of personal updates in the past week.
This week have been a mixed bag of events. Nothing too exciting on the home front but we have progressed a little on our house hunting. Holidays plans are being thought of, and family events were celebrated back in the UK without me which makes me look forward more to my trip this month.
House hunting
So far, our search have yielded little results in the past two months. On a positive note, a few newly listed homes have caught my eye this week and I’ve sent some emails to agents regarding the properties.
I’m really hoping that we will finally find ‘the one’, but I will save my excitement until we have viewed the house and whether the property has met some of the things on our checklist.
I’m also trying not to think about the whole moving process. The thought of more boxes, my messy organization and unpacking fills me with dread.
Easter
All hope was not lost with Easter eggs this year, my in-laws remembered that it’s rare for us to get ‘real’ easter eggs here in Spain, so they brought some lovely gifts for all of us including our friends!
So this year we’re filled up with chocolates from back home and we didn’t have to pay extortionate amounts! Thanks, N&G!
Warm Days
After a week of rain, it’s finally great to see the sun again. One of the things I love about living in Valencia is that during the summer I am able to wear all the things I brought during the summer sale back in the UK! And that people, is how I organise my wardrobe.
I love British fashion and when I go back I try to time it during the sales, so I can get a ton of summer wear at a better deal. Same goes for winter! :D
Sunsets
Got to hand it to Spain for producing some of the best sunsets. At this time of year, you can guarantee to witness amazing colour formations in the sky.
I must have hundreds of photos now of every beautiful sunset I see! But there is something about them that I find so beautiful and calming.
The smell of Azahar
Come to Valencia in Spring (April-May) and you will experience the beautiful smell of Azahar (orange blossoms) in many parts of the community.
This happens to be my favourite time of the year, the temperature is just right to potter around the garden and to do outdoorsy things, without burning yourself to death.
Plus, the smell of the flowers emanating all over the campo and some parts of the city is amazing!
Family Celebrations
I’m so proud to say that my younger sister has finally earned her qualification as a professional actress.
It has been a tough few years for her, having to move to London and making it by herself. But after years of hard work and dedication she is finally reaching her goals and looking forward to what’s in store. I’m a very proud big sister indeed!

So they are my snippets on this weeks events, apart from the frustration that we cannot seem to find the right property I’m worried that we won’t be able to find something in time for winter. Moving during autumn was our intention, but lately the months and days are going by with nothing to plan towards! Argh!
But, I’m greateful for the Easter holidays, at least so I can spend more time looking and maybe viewing some houses. But for this weekend I’m going to forget about all this and look forward to our trip to the beach tomorrow. :D
