One of the things I love in our home is the patio area where we spend most of our time with friends and family during summer. The sun hits it just right in the morning where it’s nice enough to have breakfast and a coffee while watching the birds take on their daily routine. Something that I find more doing over the past year, my calmer side surfacing as I’m getting older. Yes, I think I’m calmer these days, and thats a good thing.
During the warm evenings it’s also used a social gathering area, where guitars are played, late nights with friends, food and beer are vastly consumed! But hey, this is Spain what else are we supposed to do when it’s too hot to stay indoors?!
So, this year I have started my project to create a Moroccan and Bohemian style patio area. The evenings are a lot cooler at this time of the years and it’s the ideal place to play the guitars, drink, eat and be merry! We ‘live’ outdoors in the summer and I think it’s time we had something comfortable and chic to spend our fun times in!
There are tons of Moroccan outdoor ideas available on the internet , and sometimes I find that I want to apply most of the things I see, I get pretty excitable when it comes to things like these! But of course, I need to calm down and choose a style that best suit my house. These are just some of the ideas I have bookmarked for reference.
I know, I know, these designs are pretty ambitious, but I plan to start this year with the intention of finding good online shops that sell Moroccan and bohemian style decors, but also using the natural resources that we have around the campo. I have already discussed my ideas with friends who have offered to help me start this exciting project, starting with an L-Shaped chill out settee made of palettes, there are tons of palettes being thrown out around here, so grabbing a few or more will be not a problem. Palettes galore!
To give you an idea of what the patio looks like, I took this unflattering image not so long ago, as you can see the potential is there an empty canvas waiting to be done to its full potential!
Little by little, I started with the small things, here are some of the items I have collected and thought would look ideal for the theme I’m hoping to achieve.
I have added more things, and I will create a follow up post to show how I’m getting on. A slow process that I have to fit in along with keeping the boys entertained during the summer. Maybe they can help too. Will let you know!
