A few days ago I updated you about what’s been going on lately about our house moving plans. I’m glad that I mentioned it because as if, by magic, we have been contacted by one of the properties that we really like!
Hallelujah! At last! Somewhere that my husband and I agree on. It’s not far from where we are now. The house is energy efficient, with enough rooms for guests, central heating are just some the things that we have on our list. I spoke to the owner and she’s really interested renting the house to us for a year before deciding to buy, I have a good feeling that maybe, this will be ‘the one’.
On Sunday, we’re meeting the owners for a viewing. We haven’t told the boys yet, but I’m sure that they will be excited about it all — I know I am! The owner also told me that it’s possible that they will be renting the house to other people through the summer, which is fine with us, as we didn’t really want to move during this time. Imagine, moving furniture in 40 degree heat!?! Crazy!
In other news, the Easter holidays is whizzing past before my eyes. Apart from our trip to the beach on Sunday, we haven’t really done much in regards to getting out and about. With two booklets of homework that my 7-year-old to have do over the Easter period, it’s important to make sure that he does at least one page a day. Yes, they really work them hard, even during the holidays!
In between homework and computer games, we still found some quality time to spend together. On Wednesday, we took a trip to our local granja to pick up some plants for the patio. My son picked up a few strawberry plants for his ‘mini’ garden.

He was trying to grow some lentils in school a few weeks back and it’s really got him into gardening. How long it will last… I don’t know, but I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts. :)
I’ve also started packing for my 5 day trip to England (6 days to go!). Yes, I know. But it’s better to have everything ready. I’m also not decided yet on whether I should bring a check in luggage, as I’m sure that I will be bringing some goodies home! You see that’s the difference between me and my husband. How he found a cabin bag sufficient enough for two weeks trip, I’ll never understand.
For now, I shall be looking forward to our house viewing on Sunday and ponder about the possibilities that we actually might be moving and this is the type of packing I certainly won’t be looking forward to. :/ You can also follow me on Instagram for more photo updates!

Hi Maria!
Reading your latest post has inspired me to get my two children creating their own mini garden’s! Enjoy your trip to England, hope its not too cold ;)
Hi Caroline! Thanks for dropping by! I can definitely suggest the mini garden, specially if you have the weather, I assume you have it nice where you are compared to back in the UK, I do a lot more in the garden since we move here, and my boy loves it!
As for my trip to England (today) not looking forward to the traveling, but can’t wait to indulge on the things I miss — and the weather is not looking too bad either!
