This weekend I took the eldest boy in Nuevo Centro Turia to see the Ninot Exhibition for the upcoming Fallas in Valencia. A large tent housed the impressive 760 ninots from the smallest to life sized ones. I thought I would be able to see the humongous creations, but I guess that is brought out during the parades, which I’m sooo excited about!
A reasonable entrance fee of €2.00 for adults and €1.00 for groups over 15, over 65′s, under 12′s and disabled it is really a MUST see if you are ever in Valencia this March.
You can also take part by voting for the Ninot to be saved from the fires on Fallas Day, this lucky ninot will end up being exhibited in the Museum of Las Fallas, where people can view the past winners all through the year.
Ninot Exhibition Timetable:
Start: February 9, 2013
End: March 14, 2013
Here are some photographs I’ve taken today. A very impressive exhibition, it shows just how much work really goes in to these ‘puppets’. Such a shame they have to burn them!
