Remember me?

August 31, 2010  |  Blogging, Homelife, Kids, Moi, Randoms  |  2 Comments

Yuhoo! Im back! After a ‘mini’ hiatus, I’ve decided to finally make time for my poor blog and post an entry.

I initially wanted to be ‘off’ only for a week or so until my family has gotten over the summer cold, but with work and other commitments I seemed to have over looked my blog and concentrated on the more ‘important’ stuff instead.

Lots to tell, lots to write about, but first things first. Just some of the things I’ve been doing since the last post:-

- Web Design projects. Recently, I have been inundated with clients so obviously that’s my first priority. A few projects are finished and a couple I’ve decided to start on.

- Keeping the kids occupied – it’s the summer holidays, and yes, we have not made any plans again this year. So I’ve been stuck at home with 3 kids trying to prevent them to say ‘I’m bored’ 100 times a day! For the past few weeks they have driving me crazy. I also spent the weekend at my brothers, which was cut short due to unexpected illness (again!).

We ended up driving home a day early with the kids throwing up at the back of the car for added effect! Does anyone know how to take that vomit smell out of your car? It’s been quite pungent for the last two weeks.

- Helping my husband develop an Android FarmVille Crop Timer App - well, as you know, I’m FarmVille‘s number one bitch, so begged hubby to develop an app to time my crops. Talk about obsession… yeah, yeah, I know I’m sad. But might as well make the use of our geeky knowledge to share with the world.

The app has been released. Will follow on with more details on here very soon!

- Reviews! – I know I should be grateful to be given the opportunity and getting paid for it, but I’ve been asked to do a few reviews which I’m pondering about, I don’t really want to my blog to be mostly reviews (even though they’re the things I like). I don’t know… something to think about. How do you feel about writing reviews? Does it shadow the main content of your blog and prevents you from talking about the things that you really want to talk about?

So the’re you go folks. That’s my month in a nutshell, nothing exciting as usual. But, one thing for sure… it’s nice to be back!

Miss Faith, spag bol and YEY for student discounts!

New week, new start.  Im rather excited about some good news, and I would like to share!

After attending an interview two weeks ago to do a 2 year F/T Degree in Web Design, I’m pleased to say that I my application has been successful. Yay! :cheer: So, it looks like that I will start my life as a student again on September. But, lots to sort out before then and the hard work is still to come.

I’m not looking forward to adding a new description to my ‘job’ title. Mom, wife and full-time student, hrrmmmm. It’s possible… anything IS possible.

There is a huge difference between a career and a job, and a job is not what I want. I see so many people that complain about how their job sucks and I really don’t want to fall in to that rut. So… yes… I’m very excited and scared at the same time!

At the moment, I’m trying to sort out Sam’s nursery place and of course the financial side of everything, so much to cram in, and I only have a few weeks left!

Anyway, no joy with the nursery yet, left a message and hopefully they’ll get back to me. But for now I’m going to have my lunch…(Spag Bol on toast,  I know it’s rather ‘road-kill’ish’) but I promise it’s NOM.

…and listen to Miss Faith, I   this at the moment… (and, I soooo want to raid her wardrobe!!)

Meme: Favourite things

June 4, 2010  |  Moi, Randoms  |  1 Comment

My husband says that I complain too much, apparently I need to chill out more.  ‘Take a chill pill’… as my daughter would say. But you know how it is, mother of 3 on the edge of insanity – ‘chilling’  rarely becomes an option.

But I guess they’re right.  There are a lot of things that piss me off and sometimes I forget to stand back and look at the things that I REALLY enjoy in life.

So this is a  ’chilled’ post and a list of some of my favourite things…. Thanks Prookie!

  • newly painted finger and toe nails
  • talking to old friends and reminiscing about the good ‘ol days
  • sponge pudding with lashings of creamy custard
  • freshly washed bedsheets
  • cuddling on the sofa while watching TV
  • spending time with friends and close family, laughing until our sides hurt
  • Chinese takeaways
  • when my kids tell me I’m the best mum in the world
  • nice smelling candles, specially Yankee Candles Ocean Blossom and Early Sunrise. Mmmmm
  • thunderstorms
  • watching old episodes of Columbo
  • markets
  • Sunday roast dinners
  • my husbands cooking
  • looking at old photographs
  • hot showers
  • hot summer nights, wine, chilling with my husband and listening to him play the guitar
  • spending time with my kids
  • girly nights in or out with my best bud

… and this song… because my husband plays it a lot on his guitar and I just   the video!

So what are your favourite things?

Eeek!!! Candid Camera

Bingkee and Gemma tagged me on this fun meme, though I can’t really call it ‘fun’. When I first found out about it, my first thoughts were GAH! No way! But hey we gotta be a sport at this one and I guess I want to make up for the few memes that I have missed over the Christmas holidays. So here we go.

Here are the rules:
1. Take a picture of yourself.. riiiiiight.. NOW!
2. DO NOT change your clothes. DO NOT fix your hair.. Just take a picture.
3. Post that picture with NO editing.
4. Post these instructions with your picture.
5. Tag 10 people to do this and leave their pics as a comment (or email me or post on your own blog)!

As you can clearly see, I have no slap on… hence the ill looking look. I hope you enjoy and have a little giggle at my expense and truly savour the real me. Hehe!

So I want to pass this to 10 unfortunate people; Ginah, Ria S, Jen, Stilettoed Praline, Ria, Kate C, MsRay, Ria (Its My Party), Miras Blog and Sheila. Goodluck girls!!!

Tagged by Ria C: 7 things about me

October 23, 2008  |  Moi, Tags & Awards  |  11 Comments

Thankies to Ria C who tagged me the other day, she wants me to share some personal secrets with you guys, and why not?! Just as long as you don’t tell anyone! ;-) So here goes, 7 little snippets of my life.

I’m a coffee addict, I love coffee, and I can’t function without it. I have about 7 cups of coffee a day (I know it’s not healthy but hey…). I HAVE TO HAVE a big mug in the morning in order to carry on. But it must be in my own mug, half a spoon of sugar, 2 tsp of Coffee Mate with a dash of cold water.

My husband said try decaf… what?! That’s like saying to someone go and get drunk but you can’t have any alcohol.

I’m a fan of La Senza & Victoria Secret lingerie. I always believe that a woman should always have a good collection of underwear, it’s almost as essential as outerwear.

I like to have underwear ready to match any occasion or mood. I can never understand some women who settle for drab graying bras and knickers, I’m sure wearing unflattering undergarments does no good for your self-esteem.  As they say, it’s what inside that counts.

I’m a Capricorn -which usually means that I am a very ambitious person, driven by the need to succeed in EVERYTHING. I am also very practical and a perfectionist.

I have a soft spot for Lost actor Josh Holloway aka Sawyer. His rugged look and cheeky smile just does it for me. ;-) Mmm need I say more?

*faints*

I absolutely detest beauty pageants, whether it’s Miss World or Miss Universe. The whole idea of it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I don’t understand why women need to parade themselves like cattle in order to be judge on their beauty or intelligence, I’m sure if they are intelligent enough, then they could be recognised for something else other than these so called ‘beauty contest’. Miss World died in the 80′s, and they should keep it that way.

I love Chinese food. I can eat it all day everyday!

My favourite dishes are Singapore Chow Mein, Salt & Chilli Ribs, Won Tons and Foo Yung, just to name a few.  Maxis Restaurant in Leeds is one of my fave restaurants.

I love orchids. I own a couple of phalaenopsis that my husband bought for me.

I’m not green fingered gal so I’m really chuffed that my orchids has survived for over six months now and they’re still flowering (apparently that’s a good sign).

Usually plants die on me after a few weeks so I’m really making an effort that these ones stay with me for a while, and if they manage to survive then I’m considering having a house full of them.

So, now that I’ve spilt the beans about my not so interesting life, it’s only fair that I pass this tag to these following lovely ladies;
